When does the Cure Become Worse than the Disease?

When does the Cure Become Worse than the Disease?

It was one of those rare instances when I was home alone during the day, during the week, and I was not working. Sitting in my recliner, I had the TV on in the background and, while on a commercial break from a riveting Star Trek marathon, I was idly scrolling through news items on my phone.

It was then, that in the back of my mind, I began to notice that the past several commercials had all been advertising one prescription drug or another. I stopped scrolling and began to pay attention. Sure enough, 5 commercials in a row, all for different prescription drugs, for various ailments, a couple of diseases, I had never heard of. Then, I also began to notice the increasingly long lists of potential side effects that may come with these drugs. There were a few times that the list of side effects revealed was so long … I had forgotten what the drug was supposed to treat! Some of those potential effects sounded even more debilitating than the disease they were supposed to treat!

Now, I understand the need for listing these effects, there are potential side effects that patients need to know about. I also understand that the side effects are just that, potential. But gee whiz … One of the side effects for one of the drugs, was purported to make the ailment worse!

According to a May, 2011 article in LiveScience (link below,) ON AVERAGE, an individual drug may have up to 70 potential side effects. Wow. You should definitely consult with your healthcare professional to weigh all the risks … and don’t get me wrong, I am not ‘anti-drug,’ not by a long shot. I take a few prescriptions myself, and I am grateful to those hardworking pharmaceutical workers that make those drugs happen. Afterall, where would many of our loved ones be without insulin??

I do wonder though, if some folks are struggling to feel some kind of way and they believe that the only solution is to medicate? I also wonder, if some folks find ways to circumvent speaking with knowledgeable healthcare providers and obtain prescription meds surreptitiously? I also wonder, if medication is used as an ‘out’ as opposed to tackling the underlying problem, or simply finding a way to avoid the problem in the first place? For example, I am an overweight guy. I could get a prescription to change my metabolism, or curb my hunger … or, I could get real about a diet and weight loss program and avoid the prescriptions all together, (which come with potential side effects.)

All this to say is that ALL of us, every single person that has ever existed or ever will exist, have a disease. A problem with our system that affects us, spiritually, emotionally and physically. This disease that we have branches out and touches others. It is a cancer of the worst kind and, if left untreated, will lead us to a death, from the likes of which we cannot recover. This disease is sin.

The cure is simple, and it is a prescription that I, Dr. Holloway, offer. There are absolutely ZERO negative side effects with this cure. There is no cost, and it is accessible to everyone. This cure can be applied to the most helpless of cases. You don’t have to ‘get a little bit better,’ before applying this cure, it truly does not matter how ‘sin sick’ you are … the cure works. You also don’t need supplements, nor co-pays. The cure is Jesus Christ. I do recommend frequent follow-up visits, but those are free of charge too!

If you are ill, do speak with your physician about taking appropriate actions. When you are ready to rid yourself of this cancer of sin, speak to Jesus.
